The Process
When I produce a portrait, I have one objective. For the viewer to have a powerful experience. It is my job to make sure we are not only creating a likeness of the pet, but a quality piece of art. In the art world we often say a quality piece is all about light. I strive to uphold the standard for quality light in every portrait I paint.
It is very important to me that I learn about my subject because I will use these personality descriptions when selecting my photo references and it also gives me a sense of the pet's spirit. If possible, I like to meet the pet and take photos, however, many times this is not possible and I will ask you extensive quesitons about your pet's personality.
